Chattanooga’s arts community is creating a buzz.
Chattanooga is home to a vibrant and maturing arts community. And it’s no secret that practicing artists are an essential part of our city’s ongoing cultural renaissance. Our city embraces a broad spectrum of artists, encourages their endeavors and creates a dynamic space for them to live and work. Just how broad is that spectrum? From chocolatiers to landscape architects to storytellers to graphic designers to classical sculptors to DJs.
Since May 2006, ArtsMove has offered mortgage assistance and financial incentives to qualified artists moving to the Scenic City. To date, ArtsMove has helped 24 practicing artists relocate into five urban neighborhoods:
- Main Street - Cowart Place
- Jefferson Heights - the ML King District.
- Fort Negley
Combined home sales for Phases I-III total $3.8 million! ArtsMove’s artists have made a commitment to live in their neighborhood for a period of five years and enthusiastically contribute to the city’s cultural tapestry and economic vitality.
