4 Bridges Art Festival

Produced by the Association for Visual Artists, this two-day festival features over 150 artists and is ranked 29th in the country by Sunshine Artist, the premiere festival artist magazine in the U.S. Attendence in 2005 was approximately 30,000.

AEC Conference on Southern Literature

Produced by the Arts & Education Council, this three-day event brings internationally acclaimed writers such as Ernest Gaines, Romulus Linney and Lee Smith to Chattanooga for book signings, lectures, and panel discussions with more than 6,000 in attendance last year.

Meacham Writers Workshop

This free workshop is intended to support developing writers through readings, discussions, group conferences, and honest criticism. Held every fall and spring at the campuses of UT at Chattanooga and Chattanooga State, the Meacham Writers Workshop is open to the public and free of charge.

Nightfall

Nightfall Concert Series - Nightfall is a FREE, 17-week concert series held on Friday nights from the end of May through the last Friday in September. Celebrating its 19th season, this Chattanooga tradition is held in the heart of downtown at Miller Plaza from 7:00 Ð 9:45 PM. By featuring a broad spectrum of musical genres performed by superior national and international artists, this series brings crowds downtown to hear artists not typically heard through live performance in Chattanooga. Nightfall was recently honored with the Best Music Series Award at the 6th Annual CIA Music Awards. Other nominees for Best Music Festival or Series included Chattanooga events, Riverbend, CultureFest and the ArtFront Series, along with Dayton's Strawberry Festival and Tracy City's Fosterfest.

Pops on the River

Pops on the River - Pops on the River is an annual celebration of Independence Day held on July 3 at Coolidge Park. Beginning at 8:00 PM, this event features the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Orchestra performing a spectrum of patriotic and traditional tunes, as well as music from some of America's most influential composers. The performance is followed by a pyrotechnic finale from the Tennessee River. Produced by the Chattanooga Downtown Partnership, this community event is held FREE of charge. Blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets are welcome, however, for the convenience of attendees, there are food and beverage vendors on site.
